This one will probably piss some people off.

Good.

Because if this hits you, it’s probably true. Most people walking around saying they have anxiety… don’t actually have anxiety the way they think they do. They have unmade decisions. They have things they know they need to do… and they’re not doing them.

They’re avoiding conversations.
Avoiding changes.
Avoiding truth.
Avoiding responsibility.

And then calling the feeling that builds up from that… anxiety.

Let’s Call It What It Actually Is

You know that feeling in your chest?

That tightness. That pressure. That constant low-level stress.

You think it’s random.

It’s not.

It’s your system saying:
“Something is off… and you’re not doing anything about it.”

You’re:
• staying in situations you know aren’t right
• putting off decisions you already know the answer to
• tolerating things that don’t align with you
• delaying conversations you need to have

That builds pressure.

And your body doesn’t ignore that.

Avoidance Feels Safer… Until It Doesn’t

In the moment, avoiding something feels like relief.

“I’ll deal with it later.”
“Now’s not the right time.”
“It’s not that big of a deal.”

But your nervous system doesn’t forget.

It keeps track.

So now you have:
• one avoided decision
• then another
• then another

And suddenly you’re overwhelmed. Not because life is overwhelming. Because you’ve stacked unresolved things on top of each other.

Living Out of Integrity Creates Internal Chaos

This is the part no one wants to hear. When your actions don’t match what you know is true for you… Your body reacts.

You might say:
“I don’t know why I feel this way.”

But if we actually broke it down, we’d find:

You know.

You just haven’t acted on it.

That disconnect creates:
• stress
• overthinking
• emotional instability
• constant background tension

That’s not random anxiety. That’s misalignment.

You’re Not Confused — You’re Avoiding the Obvious

This is where I push people.

Hard.

Most people are not confused.

They know:
• what they need to do
• what they need to change
• what they need to say
• what they need to stop tolerating

They just don’t want to deal with the consequences.

So they sit in it. And the longer you sit in it… The louder your body gets.

Procrastination Is Fueling It

Let’s talk about procrastination. Because it’s not just about “being lazy.” Every time you delay something you know matters, you reinforce a pattern.

You teach your brain:
“We don’t follow through.”

Now your identity starts to shift.

Now you feel:
• less in control
• less confident
• more overwhelmed

And now everything feels harder than it should.

This Is Why Quick Fixes Don’t Work

People try to:
• breathe it away
• distract themselves
• numb it
• suppress it

And sometimes that gives temporary relief. But the root is still there. Because the decision is still unmade. The action is still undone. The truth is still avoided.

I’ve Been Here Too

I’m not speaking from theory. I’ve lived this. There were times in my life where I felt overwhelmed, stuck, constantly in my head. And when I actually slowed down and looked at it… It wasn’t random.

It was:
• things I was avoiding
• decisions I didn’t want to make
• situations I was tolerating

Once I started dealing with those directly… Everything changed. Not overnight. But quickly. Because the pressure started to release.
